DRAXXIN for Beef DRAXXIN for Dairy Swine Prescribing Information Veterinarians

Three field studies were conducted comparing the efficacy of a single dose of DRAXXIN (2.5 mg/kg) to Nuflor (40 mg/kg) or Micotil (10 mg/kg) for the control of BRD in cattle at high risk of developing BRD. The studies were conducted in feedlots in Idaho (n=500), Texas (n=500) and Colorado (n=500).3

  • In all 3 studies, DRAXXIN was highly effective in controlling respiratory disease in cattle at high risk of developing BRD following arrival at feedlots (Figure 9).
  • The group of cattle treated with DRAXXIN had fewer BRD-associated removals (chronics and mortalities) than the groups of cattle that received Micotil or Nuflor (Figure 10).
  • Significantly (P < 0.02) more animals that received DRAXXIN for the control of BRD did not need subsequent treatment, compared to cattle that received Nuflor or Micotil.
